Avery is 11 months old today and there is no end to what she can do. Her favorite thing is to chase her brother around. Now that summer break is here she is usually up about an hour before Ethan. When he finally decides to roll out of bed she'll hear his door squeak then look up and start squealing. She calls him by name. It isn't Ethan but it is a word she only uses for him. It is a form of Dada with a certain emphasis on each da to sound like Ethan. It is so sweet how much she loves him.
She no longer uses a bottle. It is sippy cups all the way. It makes it so much easier at the pool. Speaking of the pool. She isn't a big fan of being in the water all the way. She likes to put her feet in and splash. Our pool has a beach front entry so she is able to sit in the wading part or walk around. She doesn't mind it up to her waist but that is about as far as she likes it. She did get in the pool with her Dad tonight and swam around for about 15 minutes. Everyone can tell from the picture she is going to be tan and blond just like her brother. For anyone wondering, yes we do use sunscreen but in between applications these 2 get browner and browner.
When she is going to sleep she has to have a minimum of 2 pacifiers. I lay her down for a nap or go to bed for the night. She will survey her choices and test them out. She picks one to suck on then she has to hold one in the other hand. I assume it is a safety paci to make it through the night. She is such a terrific sleeper. She goes to sleep on her own and always sleeps 10 hours.
She is getting taller and therefore seems to be thinning out. She loves to eat. She will eat anything we are eating. She has tried so much more than Ethan ever has. She has eaten a fresh tomato, fresh fruit, tuna fish, and mushrooms off a pizza. I hope she keeps an open mind about food. I'm going to make sure my terrible eating habits don't rub off on her.
Walking should happen any day now. I've been saying that for about 3 weeks now. She will have me walk her EVERYWHERE! She loves to walk around and around at the pool. She is not shy. While we are walking around the pool she will stop at everyone and wait for them to make a comment about how cute or sweet she looks then she'll move on. Of course everyone does because she is completely adorable.
Her favorite toy is her blue plastic chair. It sings a song when you sit down. She likes to show off and stand up in the seat. She also likes to play with a fisher price door. This one she likes more when Ethan will play with it too. It was Ethan's when he was little. She stands up on it the same way he did. Her favorite part on it is the mailbox. Ethan's was the part on top that spins from the sun to the moon. She likes to use her walking toy but hasn't quite figured out how to move it once she has pushed it across the room and against the wall.
